FAQ

It's a big decision choosing a new studio to go to, and you probably have lots of questions before your first class. To save you time, below are 5 of the most popular questions we are asked here at Rhythms of Grace.

What is "Peaceful Pricing", and how does it work?

At many dance studios, costume fees or recital fees unexpectedly pop up in addition to monthly tuition fees throughout the dance year. We know our families like to budget and plan, and we don't like for families to have unexpected, surprise expenses. Instead, we've instituted Peaceful Pricing...11 equal monthly tuition installments from August through June with no extra surprises. All of this is included in your monthly tuition installments:

What will my dancer need for class?

Leotard and Tights. We will provide each dancer with a class color leotard to wear to class each week. You will need to purchase tights of any color. Students are welcome to wear shorts or skirts over top of their leotard, however, tights must still be worn underneath. Leotards and tights are a must for all Tiny Tutus classes, Step Stones Ruby, Emerald, or Sapphire classes, Pre-Pointe, Demi-Pointe, and Pointe classes, and Royal Rhythms ballet, jazz, or modern classes.

We value modesty at Rhythms of Grace, therefore we do not allow exposed midriffs, low cut tops, or short shorts without tights at any time. Best way to check to see if your clothes are appropriate? “Raise your arms then touch your toes. If anything shows go change your clothes.”

Dance Shoes Tiny Tutus, Ruby, Ruby Step Up: White ballet shoes and black matte buckle tap shoes Emerald, Emerald Step Up: White ballet shoes, black matte buckle tap shoes, tan slip-on jazz shoes Sapphire, Sapphire Step Up: Ballet pink ballet shoes, black slip-on tap shoes, tan slip-on jazz shoes

Royal Rhythms: Ballet - Pink Ballet Shoes; *Tap *- Black Slip-On; Jazz - Tan Slip-On; Modern - Nude Foot Undeez Hip Hop - Solid Black Hip Hop Sneakers Pre-Pointe: Convertible Tights for Barefoot Work Demi-Pointe: Toe Pads, Demi-Pointe Shoes, and a Pre-Pointe Kit *Flip * - Barefoot; If adjacent to another class you’ll need convertible tights so they can be rolled up Twirl - Tan Slip-On Jazz Shoes or Tan Majorette/Twirling Shoes

Dance Bag Dancers will take their bags into the studios, and shoe changes will take place within the studios. Make sure to write your dancer’s name inside each shoe so we can quickly return shoes to their rightful owner in the event that a student accidentally picks up the incorrect shoe. Dancers work hard during their classes, so it is encouraged that they bring a sealed container of water only in their dance bag. No other food or liquids should travel within the dance bag.

Where can I purchase dance clothes and dance shoes?

You can purchase shoes, leotards, and tights for class in our Class-Wear Cove at the front of our Family Room area. We have both new and used shoes available for purchase to help with your budget! When your dancer’s feet hit a growth spurt and you have nothing to do with old dance shoes that no longer fit, we invite you to donate them to our “Cinderella Slippers” boxes at Rhythms of Grace. When you donate a pair of dance shoes, you’ll get a coupon for $5 off your next pair of new dance shoes.

You can also purchase dance leotards and tights at stores like WalMart, Target, and Dunham's or online dance wear sites. There is also a dance wear store in Charleston called Backstage Body Wear. We strongly encourage you to purchase shoes at the studio or somewhere your dancer can try them on since they often don't align with a regular street shoe size.

Where are you located?

We are located at 386 Ragland Road in Beckley. Our studio is just down the street from Bullfrogs and Butterflies and across the street from the Gates Supply building. We are conveniently located right off the East Beckley Bypass.

What if I register and my child doesn't like it?

This rarely ever happens! However, for FIRST TIME STUDENTS ONLY who DON'T LIKE IT or aren't adjusting after attending two classes, we will refund your first month's tuition installment (September or February) for them prior to the beginning of the Persistence Period. The registration fee is non-refundable. Persistence Periods take place from September 15 through January 30 and February 15 through June 30. **All Registration Fees are nonrefundable. **
